Our Hospital and Surgical plan is designed to cover your MAJOR expenses in the hospital, as well as out-patient surgery, and expensive out-patient services, such as MRIs & Cat Scans. With this type of health insurance plan there is no coverage for dr. visits or prescription drugs on an out-patient basis. An HSA is a special tax-sheltered savings account for medical bills. It is similar to an IRA. Instead of buying high-priced health insurance with a low deductible and low co-pays, you buy a low cost insurance policy with a "high" deductible (for the "big" bills) and save the difference in the HSA (to cover "small bills").
